Orbital Decay open the night with their self-described “Moody Metal” — raw, nostalgic 80s hard rock built on heavy power chords with clear echoes of Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. As reviewer Bear Wiseman put it, in a scene this oversaturated, Orbital Decay’s sound is “music that brings you back” to the glory days of Iron Maiden and Sabbath-era metal.
Black Magic Fools continue with bagpipes, violin, hurdy-gurdy and flute in their medieval-tinged metal. Active since 2008 and steeped in tales of plague, superstition and gallows humour from Sweden’s past, the Gothenburg band deliver a full folk-metal spectacle, not just a gig.
Nocean close the night. The Stockholm-based cinematic metal band blends melodic, progressive and symphonic metal with full theatrical storytelling — most recently touring their concept album Aurora: The Weight of a Shadow across 18 Swedish theatre stages. New single “Beware” is out now.
